SQA higher psychology

Hii,
I was wondering if anyone had any tips for remembering names and years of studies for psychology. Im ok for a lot of them, but for the memory topic I swear they were *all* done by Baddeley in the 70s. I try and try but always still get mixed up. At the moment I’m mainly using flashcards, mindmaps and past paper questions for revision.

Thank you!

Hey, I totally get you - this is really tricky!

If it helps, my teacher says if you blank on the day and can't remember you'd still get marks for using the correct study if you explained it well enough and linked it to the question. But...it is good to know them.

Haha this is gonna sound weird but I remember them like I would my friends. You wouldn't forget your friends' name or their birthday?

For example, the Dement and Kleitman study was done in 1957. I would try it like this: My two friends, who are twins; Dement and Kleitman have their birthday on x date (luckily you dont need to remember the date) because they were born in 1957. Or remember it as it is they are 67 years old and date it back although this takes longer.

Apologies if this is confusing but it's what has helped me! Best of luck 🙂

I'm in the same boat as you it's so hard!! This doesn't help for the sqa mandated studies but my teacher told me that for any other studies that you want to include, it's okay not to include the year as long as you get the name right

Hi, ive simply been brute forcing it. I have about 60 studies i have decided to memorise and just doing the flashcards everyday, however im not remembering the dates for support studies as they are not in the course specification. The only dates you really need to know are the two mandatory ones for each section. Probably a bit late seeing as the exam is tomorrow but good luck!!
