Help with English literature

Hello guys I have no idea how to revise for English literature I used to get 6 without any revision but now I am got a 4 in my poetry test and I would need a 6-9 to pick it for a-levels so what’s the best advice to study because I have been really stressing out about it if I don’t get the grade 6 I would like to achieve a grade 7 and above as well but I have no idea where to start

Hello for the poetry bits, I recommend completely annotating the poems without looking at your notes. This way, you might make your own interpretation of the poem, which is always easier to memorise and write about.

to memorise quotes I always used blank page retrieval and just made sure I was consistent with doing it weekly leading up to exams.
I'd also recommend reading through each text again or at least skimming through them as I think sometimes with all of the zoomed in analysis the context of some of the quotes and events gets lost so re contextualising the quotes and events you're using can help with writing about how they fit into the wider play. also you may find some more quotes you think would be helpful. I always recommend learning more quotes than necessary so if you forget some you still have loads to use.
my main revision that I did for lit was planning out lots of essays in detail at first with the texts and then without them. then as I got closer to exams I'd make the plans less detailed and quicker and I wrote practise paragraphs for some of the plans.
for poetry choose a few poems to study closely -at least 2 to fit each main theme that could come up- and for the rest of the poems just make sure you have enough of an understanding of them to be able to write about them if they come up.
hope this helps let me know if you have any questions
