it is possible to go from a U to a C/D in 57 days?

i’ve been struggling with a level politics (edexcel) since year 12, i truly cannot understand it for the life of me. i’m way better at paper 3 (us politics) than the other 2 (uk politics & uk government), and i know some basic content, but apparently it’s not enough to get an E.

i’ve already responded to uni offers, my firm needs 96 ucas points and insurance is just 48 (both contextual offers). i think it’s very possible for me to get a B and a C in my other 2 subjects, so i just need to get a C or a D in politics. preferably a C, though.

is it unrealistic of me to aim for a C? and does anyone have any tips for how i can use my time effectively? i know i’m supposed to focus on my weakest topics or wtv but my weakest topics are literally the entire course. i have no clue where to start, what revision methods would be best to use, etc. any advice is appreciated 😭 x

Hi there!

So i went from a U to a C in chemsitry. I understand your situation! I would recommend going through past papers as much as you can so you can practice, and time yourself as well. Use your course specification from the exam board (ask your teachers exactly what spec to use) as your guide. You may consider selective revision (i did!) which is essentially focusing on your strong points and maximizing marks, however DO NOT neglect other topics on your paper. I focused on recall, so looked at methods of memorizing key facts etc. This is through revision cards and mind maps, simply reading the information is not enough and I made this mistake in year 12. Also, focus on understanding your topics. Crash courses on youtube might help you and of course, ask for help! Consult your teachers and head of year so they can implement a learning plan to get you on track.

Hope this helps!
