So confused. Had offers for 4/5 and today got UCAS e mail to say I needed to accept my offers. They refer to the uni I’ve not heard back from as either ‘rejecting me or course full’. I’ve not had an acceptance but not a rejection . Why are UCAS asking me to accept by 8th May when one uni still outstanding? Or maybe the uni had told UCAS but not told me yet? Any idea please?

Sorry for the late reply. Have you managed to sort this out? The deadline for you to make you firm/insurance decisions is 5 June if you receive all of your replies by 14 May.

I have offers from Bath and Leeds, to study politics with economics at bath and just politics at Leeds. (Also have Edinburgh and Warwick and got rejected from Cambridge post interview 😝)
Both entry requirements are similar, Bath A*AB and Leeds AAB (I got a BBB contextual). I've been to both offer holder days and I genuinely loved everything about Leeds, the city, the campus, the department, and I have such a gut feeling about it. I was iffy about Bath, the campus is smaller and kinda ugly lol, and the city is also much smaller and very similar to home (boring), which I don't really want. Social life also feels very sports centred? But I'm so conscious of rankings, and Bath is ranked higher than Leeds in both politics rankings (9th vs 17th) and overall rankings. Should I really take this into account too much when I make my decision? They both have placement year opportunities which is v important to me. I love Leeds but I'm stressed about like future career opportunities and whether going there over Bath would hinder them. I just love Leeds so much :frown: any advice would be great

Rankings are highly subjective and you shouldn't base your decision making on them. Which course do you prefer? Have a look at the modules and optional modules in detail and think about which you would pick if you did go there. Having the option of a placement year is a big positive as it is the experience that you gain from this that will add a lot to your graduate CV, not the uni that you go to (see image below). Also, compare accommodation costs and availability for all years of your course, and travel times to/from your home town (if you think you will want to visit during term).

I’m really struggling to choose my firm and insurance. I have offers from Edge Hill for Creative Writing and Hertfordshire for Digital Media and Creative Writing. Both have the same UCAS points (112). I really like the Edge Hill campus, course and cost of living but it’s a very long way from where I live. OTOH Hertfordshire’s course is more flexible and varied but it seems expensive. I can see myself happy at either but I haven’t heard enough about the digital media at Herts to be confident in a decision. Help!

Congrats on your offers

At first glance, it feels to me like you're leaning ever so slightly more towards Edge Hill. Is the distance from home a deal breaker for you? what are your main concerns around that?

I'd try writing down a list of pros and cons for each university and see if that helps with deciding, include everything that would be a priority to you as well! I'd also recommend asking about the Digital Media course at Herts in their forum here - someone will likely be able to give you some more insight  Hope this helps!

Hey, I'm still slightly undecided between LSE and Oxford PPE - hoping to maybe go into finance but still very undecided on post-uni plans. Please reply if you have thoughts/opinions/feedback on the courses! I'm very much leaning Oxford at this stage but not 100%

I’ve applied to GCU for optometry

However have had no response as of yet

Kinda worried, although most people who have heard back have had rejections

My grades are AABBC which are above the minimum and one grade of the standard

Im also apart of widening access

Just was wondering if anyone had had an offer or any guidance what to do in the meantime

Thanks

Congrats on your offers. Have you compared the modules and optional modules for both courses - which would you find most interesting?

Where else have you applied and have you received any offers?

Hello!
I'm torn between Imperial's Chemistry with Molecular Physics (75/25 ish split) and Edinburgh/ Durham for Chemical Physics / Natural Sciences where it's more of an even split. The main issue for me is the physics content (and ofcourse job prospects, as I want to go into an industry that utilises both (spectroscopy, etc)

Imperial has given me a really tempting offer of AAA, which I feel like I can't turn down, but the insane London debt is something that worries me. Any advice is appreciated!

Congratulations on all your offers. What grades are required for Edi and Durham?

The course content is the main thing you should focus on and if you feel that there isn't enough physics content in the Imperial course, then perhaps that isn't the right course for you. Are the any optional modules offered that could boost the physics content?

Also, with regards to student finance, bear in mind that your repayments will be the same no matter how much you borrow. Whether you borrow £50k or £80k, your repayments will be still be 9% of your annual earnings above £25k.

Unis still have a month to make decisions and many will be sending out offers right up to the May deadline. So if optometry at GCU is the course you would firm if you receive an offer, then just hang on in there.

Thanks for information!

I guess it’s just the nerves of being rejected

But thanks again for the response!!!

I have national 5 chemistry and English. But the rest is national 4 math physics biology art and design and cybersecurity.and I want to go to Manchester college to study health and social care Level 1 . They said no entry requirements. Does that means that this subject that I do they can accept it.

You would need to check with Manchester College directly if you are eligible for the course with your current qualifications.
