Offer holder day Strathclyde

Anyone know when the offer holder day is for students with offers for politics or modern languages?

Hey Anon! If you've received an offer of study you'll have received an email with their sessions to invite you along to the applicant days in April 🙂 If you've not received this yet check your junk emails, and drop the department an email at [email protected] and the team will be able to help! 📧

Hey Anon! We're holding a couple of applicant events through April so if you receive an offer hopefully you'll be able to attend. If not, we're hosting a virtual session in May, and there are regular visiting opportunities (campus tours, presentations etc) which you can use to come along and ask any additional questions you have in person 🙂 Our teams are happy to answer any questions you need to know the answers to at that stage, and if they don't know the answer we can give you the contact details for the departments for you to ask anything you'd like to know.

Thanks. How much longer will humanities take and why don’t you communicate that you can get offers for two similar courses as that’s unfair. I got rejected from my preferred one

Hi Anon! We include this info on our website - it's mentioned in the video explaining the degree structure at the top and bottom of the course pages, and in the 'Apply' sections too. It's also in our prospectus on the page where we explain the structure as well. Apologies if you've missed this.

Sorry to hear you're still waiting to hear too - our Humanities selection team are still processing applications but I don't have an update on timescales. Their contact email address is [email protected] and phone number is 0141 444 8600 if you'd like to get in touch and ask them directly.

I wasn't successful Caitlin, for two courses, and got the stock feedback response. I'm not happy as I have five highers, doing AH this year, was eligible for a contextual offer and did a pre entry course at the university which they claimed would improve my chances. Clearly that was a lie. I would have been the 4th generation of my family to go there yet someone with just 2 Cs in S5 got an offer. My opinion of the university has completely changed. Absolutely gutted. Not even a conditional.

Hi Anon, really sorry to hear you weren't successful. I know this is really upsetting. Some of our courses are really competitive and unfortunately we can't make offers to all of our applicants, and meeting or exceeding the entry requirements doesn't guarantee an offer. Academic selectors will be taking the whole application in to account.

If you'd like additional feedback I'd recommend contacting the team at the above contact details to see what they can advise. It might not be possible for them to go in to much detail in the response you've seen on your UCAS decision, but if you request further detail via email they'll get back to you.
