Hi, I got 99 in GCSE AQA english (lang/lit) for my february yr 11 mocks.

For AIC & MB, all I do is remember so many quotes, that it literally 'tells the story' just with the quotes, and then in the exam, just choose ones relevant and analyse. Attached is the documents I made, I use, and u are free to use
Macbeth:

AIC:
A Christmas Carol Quotes.docx

For the poetry, I remember around 6-8 ish quotes per poem

What I found that pushed me over the border of an 8 to a very strong 9 (150/160 in total) is talking about symbolism of an event/character/action a couple of times an essay, and analysing 4-6 quotes/events in detail each essay. That way you're writing a high quantity so it's very hard for them to mark you low.
Plan essays, points for your thesis statements (I liked making 3-4 points that could be applied to any question) and whole essays under timed conditions
Learn like 3-4 quotes from 4-5 key poems that cover the main themes - any more is a bit of a waste tbh
