LSE vs UCL for psychology

Hi,

I've gotten offer for both LSE and UCL psychology and am unsure which of these to firm. I'd appreciate any advice to help me choose, regarding not only the course but also future career prospects and the opportunities that both courses would provide.

And I'd really love your opinions on these courses if you are currently studying them, as well as the university in general.

Mostly all psychology degrees are BPS accredited, select the course you prefer. The last few responses on this thread my help.

Hi there!

Apologies for leaping in this thread! Congrats on your offers - just thought I'd give you some pointers about things to think about:

Which course has modules which spark your interest more? Do you have any ideas as to what you may want to do after uni? If so, then would any of the modules help you to get there? Which modules would you take if you went to each?

Do the UCL or LSE courses offer the chance to do a placement year? This is definitely something to think about if you're interested as it will give you some great experience for your CV.

Have you visited these campuses? Which one did you feel more at ease and at home in? Did one stand out to you as being somewhere you could genuinely see yourself?

What kind of research goes on there? Have you looked into any of the lecturers online and the kinds of things they research? Anything that sounds like what you might be interested in? And what about societies? What do these unis offer in terms of opportunities to get involved with things outside your studies?

This may sound a little basic, but have you tried to do an LSE VS UCL pros and cons list, and seeing if one after all of your considerations stands out as the winner?

Its great that you've received offers from 2 such fabulous unis and I'm confident that you'll have a great academic and social experience whichever you decide on.

I hope some of this helps, best of luck 🙂

ucl is second best in the world and internationally renowned. the only reason id maybe pick lse is if i was more interested in the corporate side of psychology as they have a lot of internships. but if you’re interested in biopsych then do not pick lse as they are a social sciences uni
