help me - laptop screen

Hello, my laptop screen suddenly stopped working and needs a replacement. Are there any reliable repair shops in the UK that you'd recommend?

Your home is a fine repair shop. All you need is a screwdriver that fits the small cross-headed screws on your laptop and something plastic to prize apart panels, eg an old credit card.

If the screen is totally blank now, it's likely to be the wires to the screen. I've seen laptops where the wire near the hinges have become damaged. Or the wires have been disconnected from the terminals.
This is good news as re-seating the wires or replacing them is cheaper than replacing the screen.

That's assuming you don't mean that the screen's stopped working because it's smashed. Or was left in a frozen car overnight.

There's highly likely to be an online guide on how to replace your screen. Just follow that.

It's the sort of job where it's quicker for you to do it than it would be for you to take it to a repair shop, due to the travel time involved.
