GCSE English Lit AQA 2025 Poetry Predictions
As GCSEs find themselves around the corner, does anyone have any predictions as to what the poem may be?
These are the poems I don't believe will come up:
- Kamikaze - came up last year.
- Bayonet Charge - already come up twice (2018 & 2022)
- Tissue - I mean, would they really?
- My Last Duchess - came up in 2023 (I think they may wait more than 2 years to repeat a poem.
These are all speculations however, and any of them could come up, even if unlikely, so I'll still go over them.
My Predictions
- Checking out me History or The Emigree - theme of identity hasn't really ever come up
- The Prelude or Storm on the Island - Theme of Nature hasn't really either
- Exposure or COTLBG - Neither have come up.
- Poppies (Though I really hope not)
Thus I have decided to write up the following essays as part of my revision:
- Checking out me History compared with The Emigree
- The Prelude compared with Storm on the Island
- Exposure compared with COTLBG
- Poppies compared with Exposure

I'm stressing! I've got Checkin out me history down but I'm struggling with comparing it, I chose war photographer as the consequences of knowing the identity of the victims equally causes discomfort however their situations are completely opposite as the speaker in COMH is frustrated with the lack of identity. I chose to revise war photographer so I'm also prepared in case it is a war question but I'm scared my comparison is too far fetched T_T
