which is better please?

Have you visited them both? Definitely a good idea to visit and get a feel for them. If you get a recall you will also get the chance to see how you feel in their spaces on the day. Some like one more than another.

Have you got an offer for both? If so, you should have an idea of what each school is like to help make a decision. GSA is small year groups and it is in Guildford which is a lovely town. Urdang is central london so accommodation costs may be higher. Best of luck with your choices, its a great position to be in

Just read your other post. Is it a foundation offer she has for GSA & a degree offer for Urdang? Thats a different conversation then. As it will be a 3 year degree v 1 year foundation and have to reaudition next year again. If it were my daughter I would want her on the 3 year degree course but it is up to your daughter on what she thinks will give her the best training

I personally would pick the foundation at GSA over Urdang just because you have that extra training and experience at a prestige School. I know it’s a risk and have to re-audition again this year which isn’t the best feeling to look forward to, but I’ve seen a lot of alumni from GSA foundies(especially last years MT and Acting students) go to schools like mountview, arts ed and LAMDA.

It’s also a lot harder to get a place on the GSA foundie as there’s only around 23-26 people on both programs (mt and acting) where I heard urdang take around 100 and sometimes give offers out from selftapes.

I think the most important thing though is how you feel about both schools and which one you enjoyed more.
If you want to play it safe then I’d go urdang but if you want to take a risk and possibly get a bigger opportunity and experience from a good school I’d pick GSA.
If you do pick GSA let me know as we would be in some classes together:smile:

I don't agree- I've been to both and GSA seemed so snobby and too old school traditional. GSA had a good reputation but I think that is changing- it is is seen as very elitist and why the need to charge for an audition when so many don't get in? Urdang accepts more students, yes, but classes are in sets and no more than 17 which would be less than the 22 average cohort at GSA. Urdang is way more current and innovative in my eyes but that's just the vibe I got. Going to Urdang is not playin it safe at all as there would be a wider pool of competition.
