PM all of the mods and admin and refer them to their own 'forum rule'.

Registration as a User implies acceptance of the following terms and conditions:
- Participants shall not post any material likely to cause offence, that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right - without the express permission of the owner of such copyright - or that contains personal phone numbers or addresses.

Tell them that they haven't got permission to use your material and if they don't remove your picture you'll take it further with the people that run the site.

I would look and get angry, but I really don't want Westlife.com clogging up my net history.

Porn, on the other hand, is a different story.

I would have one of the mods send them an email threatening to sue them for stealing content that is copyrighted to TSR.

I would also edit the post that is linked in that thread to reflect the fact that this person is impersonating you. http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/t89115.html

that doesn't mean they own copyright over material submitted in post form by their users.

Yes it does. Legally, the post is owned by the user. But practically it is owned by the site which is why the mods have the authority to modify posts.

That is why the user has ultimate copywrite. If someone wants all of their posts removed, they can take steps to have this carried out.

Legally is what counts with copyright, as I'm sure you'll appreciate.

Legally only counts in court.

The only steps someone can take to have all their posts removed is to delete them themselves.

...civil laws? You have copyright over your posts, i never said you could file a criminal lawsuit for such things, what exactly is being disputed here?

And as I remember a certain medschoolguide forum user had all of their posts (i.e. intellectual property) removed due to their right for their IP to be deleted.
