Do people studying in London really enjoy being there?

A couple of weekends ago I went to visit a friend who is studying in London and it wasn't the experience I thought it would be, in fact I'm ngl, I mostly hated it. When I arrived at Kings Cross I took a bus to my friend's university. At the bus stop, a homeless bloke got 2 pounds off me with a sob story, his mate was standing a few feet away giggling. I gave him the money as he was being really aggressive, so it was a bad start. I found my mate's uni, UCL, unfriendly. Nobody made eye contact on the campus at all, it felt boring and lonely. We chilled on Friday evening and walked around the west end on the saturday, Oxford Street was OK I guess, I got a new top and it was a busy vibe and seemed kinda fun. In the evening we went to a couple of pubs, but the bar staff at both places came over rude, and everyone in the pub was ignoring everyone else. The Sunday we went to Camden. It was okay I guess, but it was also rammed with most people just ignoring you. We also went for a walk which was OK I guess. Unfortunately I got a cough and eyes watering which I think may have been caused by air quality. All in all I found it massively underwhelming and am glad I'm not a student in London, I can't believe anyone likes studying there.

It's sad, isn't it. That's what happens when a city becomes so diverse that nobody has anything much in common. The same is true of some of the LEAST diverse places too - the older people never had to challenge their preconceptions so the place stagnates.
A city outside of London is the ideal place to be at university.
