Student finance for nursing when I have previously dropped out

Hi everyone,

I have an undergraduate degree in Biology and started the accelerated 2 year MSc in Nursing a couple of years ago and dropped out after 6 months.

I told my university that I wanted to pursue a different career for the sake of ease when in reality I was struggling very badly with my anxiety.

I'm still working in care, I have done since I graduate from my BSc, and I am in a better place mentally and would love to go back and do my MSc in Nursing again and qualify.

Does anybody know what my funding situation would be? I received funding from student finance before for this course which I am still paying back as an overpayment. I don't know what my situation would be with funding if I wanted to go back, which I really do.

Thank you

Hi there, if you previously studied an Allied Health Professional course (nursing is included in this) and start a new Allied Health Professional course, this will not be counted as repeat study. This will be considered as a new course, so you will have access to the full package of funding (so long as you are not already registered in the field you are planning to study).
Thanks, Stephen.
