For English literature in my November mocks I got an 8 and was getting like 27/34 and 23/30 now I'm getting like 32/34 and 28/30 I would say the difference is the level of analysis. My best friend was chatgpt and I'd ask for the best grade 9 analysis for my chosen quotes. Also to chose quotes I'd ask for quotes that could fit in any essay so I'd only memorised like 5/6 per text. Also use more than one quote in a paragraph and pre write ur thesis because that'll give an impression to the markee that you're a grade 9 student. For English language u can only practice so do past papers then u can ask your teacher to mark them or chatgpt or some sort of online essay marker if you can't. Then ask for feedback and keep improving. Also find out which question is ur weakness. If ur getting like 5/8 or 7/12 that's slightly concerning because those 3 or 5 marks can be the difference between you getting a 7 or 8. I'd also say for q5 if u do aqa my hack is to learn 2 descriptions one for bad weather and one for good weather and make it grade 9, incorporate this in a story and you're automatically guaranteed at least 12/16 marks for grammar. If you're getting an 8 literature then you can easily get 19/24 or more for content if you keep writing sophisticated! I'm sorry this is so long but I'd love some tips for maths.

Ok thanks for this advice, it fits with my English teachers advice and I'll see what ChatGPT can do.
For maths:
If you're working at a grade 7/8, grade 9 is just about the last few questions, the 4 and 5 markers.
You just need to practice these. Firstly, make sure you know all the content. To do this, just search up the topic lists for each paper for your board, and just check in your head if you know it. If you're even 1% unsure, try 1 or 2 topic questions for that topic. Corbettmaths or Mathsgenie do these.
Next, go through the past papers and do all of the 4/5 markers. Most grade 7/8 students can easily do 1/2/3 mark questions and its just the final questions that trip them up.
In tests, everyone tells you this, but read questions FULLY. Don't skim.
My friend gets grade 9 in maths every time but sometimes he misreads or skips some parts and misses 1/2 marks. Do this 5 times you go down 1 grade.
Other advice:
Make sure your answers make sense
Redo the questions in your head when you finish.
Most grade 7/8/9 students only miss marks due to silly mistakes, so do the stuff above to avoid them.
