The Student Room Group

mock results are finally in!! (sorry 4 the wait)

i got these results last week but I just haven’t been active on here recently for a while

anyway these are my results

Art (Externally Set Assignment)- 5 (AQA)
Business Studies- 8 (CAIE)
P.E- 7 (AQA)
R.E- 5 (AQA)
Spanish- 9 (AQA)
Maths- 6+ (Edexcel International)
Language- 7 (AQA)
Literature- 7 (AQA)

I should have specified in my last posts about my grades that my mocks in June of yr 10 and November of yr 11 were ONLY ONE paper. However, my February mocks consisted of ALL PAPERS and NEAs

also I would love to hear some advice on how to improve certain topics and any other type of feedback!

Im not sure what you do in RE but I do Christianity, Islam and Theme ABDE. Use the structure T(thesis) Ax2(Agree) Dx2(Disagree) C(conclusion). However, within your agree and disagree, evaluate where possible and ALWAYS link back to the statement and your thesis. For quotes, you must state your source before you say it or else you won’t get the mark. You should use denominations whenever you can instead of saying some Christians. An example paragraph could be really simple like this:

(Denomination) would argue that__________
This belief comes from the Bible when Jesus says ‘love your neighbour’. This teaches Christian’s to always do the most loving thing. This point is strong as it was said by Jesus, the son of God, who is who Christians strive to be. Therefore, a Christian would support______.

Maths do Corbett maths 5-A-Day(higher and higher plus) everyday even if you don’t plan on doing maths revision for that day. Then highlight your weak areas then do a past paper, mark it and calculate your grade by using last year’s grade boundaries. Highlight your weak areas there and repeat the process.

For language I would definitely say that having strong question five is most important. For example in language paper one I did awful I all of the questions but I got pushed up to an 8 becuase of my question 5 and the thing is it’s not even that hard. For P1Q5 just ask chat gpt for some powerful metaphors and similes (choose ones about violence or a storm ext) memorise them and choose the story this way you don’t need tons of description just the metaphors and similes you memorised. And for language paper 2 Q5 memorise generic quotes form Socrates or some other fancy philosophers for your expert voice it’s just another way to impress the examiner.
