sixth form application problems

hey guys.

i really want to go to cambridge for uni, so i am applying to one of the top sixth forms in London. slight problem. my mum works there as a teacher. me and my mum have a really unique surname so people are going to be joining the dots immediately. i am a person who gets easy self-conscious and embarrased. do you think it is worth applying?

it is definitely worth applying, if it’s one of the top sixth forms, people there are going to be focused like you on grades and uni and any talk about you and your mum will die down immediately if it even starts at all. don’t stop yourself from opportunities from fear of people talking!

No-one will care - my own children had a similar experience, and aside from the usual 'are you related to....', it made no difference to their student experience. They didnt get 'favours' nor did they get a harder time from anyone either.
