GCSE Design and Technology

Hello ,

I recently received my score for my NEA (still needs to be moderated by exam board) and scored 92.

I am eager to get a 9 in GCSE DT but have never revised for it and in my mocks have achieved roughly low 70s.
I really need to be scoring mid / high 80s to secure my 9 .
PLEASE tell me how to revise .
We have never really been taught content and I have scraped through : )

Hi, well done on your NEA score that's really good. I'm in y11, I got 88 but I normally do better on theory than coursework. To revise my teacher tells us to use the CGP revision guide and also past papers, so normally i just read through the guide before exams. Also the specialist topic and deeigning topic is worth a lot more marks than the core theory. Also the sketches questions are quite hard and worth a lot of marks so it's worth practicing those. Hope this helps.

So I would definitely use the CGP textbook but it's important to try and revise it actively so maybe make flashcards, mindmaps, etc. relating to it. Using youtube videos can also help greatly as I find that I don't get bored as quickly lol. After having learned as much of the content as you can, start with your past paper questions

Apologies, this is a quite general response since I do Edexcel and don't know much about the AQA spec but I hope that it's helpful!
