a&f and failed practical endorsement

Hi hi !

Im currently in y13 studying biology, maths and psych with predicted grades A*A*A* and I originally applied to uni for radiography but asked for course switches from my firm (uni of liverpool) and insurance (ljmu) to accounting & finance and both let me switch.

To keep it short Ive basically failed the practical endorsement for biology (ocr), I had something major happen last November so my attendance has been very on and off since up until a month ago where I just couldnt come into college anymore and started distance learning. It sounds a bit dramatic but its honestly been horrific. I sat all but 3 practicals that were done from Feb onwards.

Will the fail in my prac endorsement affect me actually getting into uni now for a&f even if I get my predicted grades? I did call up my firm and and ask but I was just told if its in the entry requirements then it could possibly, and its not listed but its not listed in the entry requirements either for radiography either where a pass in the practical endorsement is mandatory so I feel like its just wrong ? 🥲 unless im blind

From this page on the University of Liverpool web site:

"Science Practical Endorsement

Following the reforms, science subjects at A-level include a separately graded practical endorsement. The University of Liverpool will require applicants offering Science subjects at A-level where the applicant has access to the practical exam to achieve a pass in the practical endorsement in addition to attaining the specified grade."

So even if you achieved A*A*A*, without that practical endorsement, they would not be obliged to confirm your place. However, given how irrelevant the practical endorsement is to Accounting and Finance, then might opt to confirm your place anyway.

I can't see anything similar on the LJMU web site. Did you contact them and ask?
