Hi @Aekover ,

It's great to hear you have had those two offers! Deciding the right university can be difficult, especially when it comes to future job prospects. Often, you will have similar job prospects at both universities, the only difference may be the networking opportunities.

Firstly, I'd recommend looking at the stories of alumni at both universities. Where are they now? A great way to look into this is using LinkedIn and looking at graduates from business management from those universities.

You could also look into the events the university holds for networking opportunities, such as job fairs.

For general job prospects, I recommend checking out "ratemyplacement" or "handshake" as this advertises an abundance of graduate schemes and placements which gives you an idea of the type of work you could end up in.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,
-Sophia (University of Central Lancashire)

Hi @Aekover,

Congratulations on receiving offers from both Swansea and Oxford Brookes 🎉

To help you decide, here are a few things you may wish to consider.

Oxford Brookes Business School is well known for its strong industry connections. You’ll have access to internships, networking events, and career fairs with top employers like IBM, BMW, and Purple Frog. Our Careers and Employment Service is also here to support you with CVs, interview prep, and job applications to set you up for success.

Additionally, you will have the chance to take part in paid work placements with companies like Microsoft, Airbus, and Nestlé, gaining valuable experience while you study. Our academics bring real world expertise into the classroom, having worked with global names like the UN and Red Bull Racing. Our WAVES Team is also here to support you in finding placements to enhance your career prospects.

Oxford itself is a buzzing city known for its academic excellence and strong ties to big businesses, consultancies, and multinational corporations. You’ll be surrounded by opportunities to network and gain internships. Swansea, on the other hand, offers a more relaxed vibe but is also home to a growing business scene, particularly in tech, finance, and manufacturing. Both cities have their benefits, but Oxford’s proximity to London may be a big advantage if you're interested in a career in a major industry.

Regarding course content, both universities offer comprehensive business programmes, but each may have a different focus, whether it’s marketing, finance, or management. Take some time to look at the course modules and think about which one aligns best with your career goals. It might help to think about the career path you’re most interested in and work backward to ensure you’re covering all the right areas.

I hope that this helps! Please let us know you thoughts below, we would love to hear from you 😊

Best wishes,

Clare
