Adult nursing: uni of VS Hallam

Hi all! I am due to make a decision regarding university offers in June and I am really struggling to choose between studying adult nursing at uni of Sheffield or Sheffield Hallam. Could any current or previous students give their feedback on these universities please? Thank you!

You'd be better off choosing The University of Sheffield. The atmosphere is more inviting and relaxing, plus the University has a library called the Information Commons that is open 24/7/365. The University of Sheffield also has the best Students Union in the UK.

Compare placement locations and timings. Do you get some of the regular student holiday weeks and a long holiday period in summer? This can vary a lot between unis.

It's great to hear you are considering studying at the University of Sheffield!

I have completed my BA, MA and now I am doing my PhD all at uni of because of how much I love it here! The campus is in a great location and there is so much to see and do. 🌲

Also, on the Complete University Guide 2025, the University of Sheffield has been ranked number 1 in the country for Nursing courses (including adult nursing!). 🥇

If you have any questions specifically about the adult nursing course, you could go to our Chat to our students page (via this link) and if you search "nursing" you will find a student ambassador on there (Lauren) who is currently on this course. So you can ask her your course-specific questions.
