How much do you spend on groceries per month?

As a single person, how much do you spend on groceries per month?

I was reading some threads on other forums and people were saying more than £100 a month, and I’m like whattttt are you people buying/eating to be spending that much.

I budget for £30 per month, and spend between £6.00 or £7.50 (depending on how many weeks are in the month). I mainly shop at Aldi, but will also get some cheaper stuff in Asda if needed. I batch cook most of my meals so that leftovers can be spread across 2 or 4 weeks. I kinda make it up as a go along by using what I have already before buying anything new. I buy and eat healthy food throughout, the portion size may be small but I don’t have a big appetite anyway so that helps with saving for other days. I’ve been doing this for a while now and manage just fine. I know some people may not be able to live like this but this works for me.

But I am interested, in how much people are spending on food as a single person?
Anywhere from £200-300 on crap every month with no budgeting (includes mass takeaways).

Not sure how you can spend £30 a month on food, £60 possibly? £30? Damn respect.

Good on you! £150.00, single, 28. Lots of cold meat, tinned spuds and sauerkraut, fruit, I make sandwiches, occasionally a Dundee cake.

I tend to shop for my brother and sister. When I do that it’s only £10.00 a week £40.00 a month. I shop at Sainsbury’s and I make sure that it’s doesn’t exceed past £12.00 before nectar discount appliance is considered and brings the price down. Otherwise for myself a month be something from £20.00 to £28.00 a month. So a week £5/£6/£7 nothing more than that.
Roughly £260 per week for 6 people. (£130 on a Monday and £130 on a Thursday).

So by my calculations that's £187.78 per person per month. Maybe round it up to £190.

Now that is NOT just food, that also includes: bin liners, shampoo, toothpaste, handwash, body wash, conditioner, sponges, bathroom cleaner, floor cleaner, kitchen cleaner, stainless steel cleaner, washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, dishwasher salt, dishwasher rinse aid, shaving foam, razors, face wash, medicines, plasters, fabric conditioner, washing machine tabs, anti-wrinkle day cream, anti-wrinkle night cream, vaseline, dettol wipes, toilet paper, kitchen roll, anti-perspirant, contact lens solution, oven cleaner, air freshener, and anything else of that sort that I can't think of off the top of my head.
