Preparing for uni

Is there anything I should do or buy in preparation for starting a BA in photojournalism in September? Things related to the course or uni life?

Hi there,

Here's an article from UCAS on general things to take to uni:

And more specifically for photography, I would imagine there must be an essential kit list out there or one that you could request. But generally outside of key items like Laptop or Camera/Lenses (which could also be loaned from uni) I would suggest:

Notebook/Paper writing (lined and plain)

Pens, pencils, highlighter pens

Memory sticks

SD cards for cameras (SanDisk & Lexar brands - 3-4 which have at least 32GB of memory)

Portable Hard drive (Brands: Iomega, Freecom, LaCie, Hitachi, Western Digital.  Suggested size 1TB/2TB)

Camera bag/backpack that can take a knock and has a quick access function to your camera. (LowePro)

Hi-Vis waistcoat with 'PRESS' printed on the back. - It might help you blag your way into situations to get the shot you need.
