Will I get kicked out of halls?

Hi so I did something stupid, like really stupid, me and my flatmate were locked out of the flat and no one was in, so in a rash state without even thinking it through I decided to kick the door (thinking it would just open) but instead of splintered the front of it. Now I accept the responsibility of that and it was really stupid and I did it without thinking what would happen first. I’m fully prepared to pay a fine or pay for repair, I’m just concerned I will get evicted from halls for it.

Any advice would be great!

The best option is to be open about it and be very clear how much you regret it and that you've learnt your lesson.

Unlikely as long as you own up to it and accept a bill. You could potentially describe it as a freak accident rather than intentional?
Not really the most egregious offence and I think very unlikely to have them ask you to leave halls over it. As above, just fess up, be apologetic and offer to pay for the repair.

They'll probably just make you pay to have it repaired

Does anyone know how much the repair will cost for a fire door?

A lot more than you'd expect. Is it standard size or wider? Does it have a vision panel in it? Did you mash the doorframe or hinges at the same time? Does it make (or did it) a slight suction shush as it was opened? There are various options, but if you get away with less than £600 consider yourself lucky, it could easily be £1k plus. And don't forget it has to be ordered, bought, brought to site and fitted.
I imagine you’ll have to manage some very uncomfortable meetings with the facilities staff and you will have to pay for the damage and perhaps a fine. But I doubt you will be evicted if this is your first incident.

What i will say is, this behaviour makes you a ******, don’t be ******. Go buy your flat mates some goodies perhaps chocolates & beers and apologise to everyone inconvenienced. I imagine neighbouring flats are also frustrated, your neighbours shouldn’t have to put up with this.

Yip, these things are not cheap, esp compared to a bog standard 'door' and beyond the most superficial of damage I imagine the entire unit has to be replaced for integrity/legislation reasons.

Something to add is that outside of films and the flimsiest of yale locks and patched up frames, solid doors don't simply pop open at a kick or two, you generally need tools or repeated shoulder charges and it will likely be the timber around the lock that goes, rather than the lock = £new door, by contrast a single kick to a crappy yale lock will fire the keeper right off the frame without damaging the door and can be patched up in 15 mins.
