I think I messed up

hi everyone. I applied for sfe on the day it came out, my personal details and information is all okay. But because my parents don’t speak english I had to sort out their information for them. Keep in mind i’m the oldest and no one has ever gone to university in my family before. My parents both receive UC, mum works but she’s not eligible for the 23/24 tax year. I made her account first and put all of her info in, I then got an automatic reply saying that I will be getting minimum loan which I KNOW is not the final result. I then proceeded to upload evidence of her receiving UC (i did not know HMRC check this and you don’t need to upload). I also created her account with my dad’s email so everyone went there, but when I uploaded everything i changed it back to her personal email.

I then got an email saying I need my dad to make an account and upload his information. I made the account and put all his info in aswell as his email. It now says he needs to complete uploading his financial information but when I click upload documents to support students application I keep having an error message, he has not recieved an email to upload evidence he only has recieved an email saying he has set up his account.

It now says that my sfe wont be processed until he uploads his information but he can’t, he has no income except from UC.

I know i made a mistake uploading the UC evidence documents but I didn’t know HMRC checks all of that just by the NI.

what am i meant to do? do i just leave it? I cant help but worry I really need this max loan to afford my accommodation

Hi there, I may be best to contact us directly for to check your account. This will allow for a review of the application and the evidence submitted (and the reason for the evidence request). You can call us over the phone (0300 100 0607) or via live chat. To access our live chat service from your online account, select undergraduate and then ‘contact us’. From here you will be able to use our live chat service when it is available. From here you will have direct contact with an advisor who will be able to check this for you. Hi, everytime I call it keeps saying there’s no need to call sfe right now so they hang up. I also don’t have a web chat option on my account

Hi there,

In this case it may be easier to complete the PFF2 form for your Dad. That way, he doesn't need to provide any more details online at all.

So, you can complete the form online and then upload it to your own account: it doesn't need to be signed or dated, rest assured.
