Choosing between bath and warwick

Hi everyone, I have been accepted in Bath for Politics and economics and Warwick for PPE.
Any advice in which one to chose?
Any student from Bath or Warwick ?
Thanks

My son has been offered Bath for Pol & Economics but still waiting for to hear from Warwick for PPE, I've just asked him and he's adamant that he would choose Warwick over Bath but leave Bath as his insurance. He prefers PPE over PE and preferred the Warwick campus. Can I ask what your stats are please as my son is convinced he'll be rejected by Warwick as they are taking so long!

Same thing here. I’m planning to put Warwick as my firm and Bath as my insurance. My stats are A* in Spanish (already achieved as I did the exam in Y12), A* in Economics, A in business and A in geography. GCSE’s are 998877765 but the 5 is in photography and lots of super curricular activities mentioned in my personal statement; essay competitions, academic excellence awards and leader of debate clubs and MUN. I hope your son gets in!

Thank you, he still hasn't heard anything. He's predicted A*A*A* (Maths/Economics/History) got A* in EPQ which Bath takes into account but not Warwick. GCSEs 99988887776, His PS was strong but not loads of awards but he did set up the political society in Y12 and has done a ton of reading! Where else have you applied? My son applied to LSE/UCL/KCL/Warwick/Bath and the only one he's heard back from is Bath ☹️ Good luck with your A levels, sounds like you'll nail them!

His grades are really strong and I'm sure his PS is too. I applied to Bath, Warwick, Exeter and two courses from Kings (Political economy and PPE). I have been accepted in everyone except for PPE at Kings where Im still waiting for a response. When did your son apply? I applied early October, which is quite early so that is maybe why I got accepted soon, also, Im an international student from Spain, so maybe that is another thing they took into account. Good luck!

Thank you, and well done on all the offers! he doesn't feel his application is that strong, he applied 11th October and thinks the reason he hasn't heard is because they're not interested in him, I keep telling him that he hasn't been rejected so there's still hope. His dream is LSE but knows it will be an uphill stuggle to get an offer there as so many seem to have 4 x A*s and all 9s at GCSE! He'd be very happy to just get 1 or 2 more offers and we both loved Warwick
Hi there both,

Its great to hear you/your son are thinking ahead and getting organised, and that you're both considering Bath in your choice mix.

I can't speak for King's, LSE or any other choice, but here are just a few observations about Warwick VS Bath:

Bath is a lively city which, although small, is full of great things to do and see - prim georgian architecture, green parks, shopping, coffee houses, street food, pubs, a few nightclubs and axe throwing, and is very well transport connected to Bristol and London with a bus station and a train station right next to each other. It is one of the safest uni cities in the country and the uni has also got one of the best industrial placement schemes in the country. However please be aware there is a small bus ride between city and uni as the uni is up a rather large hill! Also be aware that Bath is quite an expensive place to live, although there are plenty of ways through this in terms of student accomodation.

Warwick is also high-performing for politics/econ and has a gorgeous campus with plenty of green space, a bit of wildlife and with modern buildings (also a very good business school!). The campus is on flat ground and so it is possible to walk to the local shops in Cannon Park centre outside the uni (theres a Tescos, an Iceland and a Greggs among others there). However the nearest city is Coventry which you'd probably need to get a bus to as its not as close to the uni as Bath is to Bath uni. However Warwick aren't as well-known for placements as Bath, although many of their courses do offer them.

At the end of the day its about A) what course you want to study more, B) where you want to be/campus/city vibe, C) how far away from home you'd be happy to be.

I hope some of this helps, and best of luck in all of your choices! 🙂
