My guy best friend said he likes me
Okay so I have been friends with this guy for about 8 months now.
He is genuinely a really nice guy. He has nearly all the qualities I look for in a guy. But I never saw him in that way.
Until today as out of nowhere, he said he likes me.
I have been noticing that he grew a bit more affectionate like gentle caressing my hands and everything but that wasn't enough...
What should I do? Like I for sure feel some type of way about him BUT I'm not at the "I like you" part yet
I dont wanna ruin the friendship cause I really cherish it but at the same time hdjdjsjsjsjs
He is a very introverted and all so he only said he likes me and didn't really elaborate so like...
What should I do next? Like any advice ? Or any of yall in the same situation ?

Tell him that you don’t feel the same ASAP. Then that way he’ll get over his feelings quicker and you can stay friends. Don’t give him the impression there’s a future there.

If he's really your friend, he will understand if you don't like him back. But, you did say he is almost what you want. First, make a decision about that. Don't keep teetering about it, and the longer you wait, the longer he thinks that there is a chance (no rejection). So, be open and honest with him, but also gentle.

So I think if you have been friends with him for this long then you could be looking at having a fantastic relationship with him if you choose that. Sometimes when we don’t think of people in that way we get used to it, but then when we actually get involved with them it can be really meaningful. I am in a similar boat to you. I have had a girl best friend (I am male 17) for 6 months but I learnt that she really likes me from her friends and when I starter seeing things from this new perspective I realised very quickly with a fully awake mind that I felt the same way, and it has been a very rewarding experience entering into a relationship with her and I love her very much. It sounds like he really likes you and you could have something special, so follow your heart, but also consider how quickly you could start feeling the same way from this new perspective.
