Partner not supporting

I am an undergraduate student with two children. I have been receiving a childcare grant for one of my daughters while claiming as a single parent. Now that my partner and I have decided to live together again in May, I want to update my application to include my second child.

However, my partner has stated that she will not support my application. I plan to change my status from 'single' to 'living with a partner' once we move in together. Will this affect my maintenance loan and childcare grant? Partner

supporting your application doesn't mean they're obligated to pay anything - it just means they provide their income information so that SFE can do a household income assessment. If they don't disclose their income information SFE will assume that they're wealthy and that you aren't eligible to any loans above the basic amounts.

Would that affect the Childcare grant?

Hi there,

Can you please tell us when your academic year normally begins? As in, are you a September start?

Thanks, Graeme
