If i got a high band 3 in my english course work which is like a c+ i think but like in my exams i get an average of A is it still possible for me to get an A* overall in english?

No. If your mark for your exams was at a A standard, then the lower mark for your coursework will reduce your overall grade, not increase it.

Note however, that your coursework doesn't have as significant impact as you might imagine. For example, with AQA it accounts for just 75 of the total 375 marks for the qualification (after weightings have been applied). So it's possible that the lower coursework mark wouldn't drag your overall grade below the A boundary.
