You can roughly estimate using the 2024 boundaries.

But, I reckon it will be an A or possibly a high grade B.

I got 23/25 and 24/25 in mine to get an A* last year.

How did you choose your NEA topic?

How did you choose your NEA topic?

I'm assuming that this question is for me so I'll go ahead and answer it for you.

AQA Lit B give you an anthology which contains a series of different literary theories. I always knew that I wanted to explore the feminist approach through the poetry collection my Teachers had provided so this was an obvious choice.

To choose my NEA topic I took the following steps:

1.

read through the critical anthology in depth at least three times to get to grips with the literary theory that I would be exploring/analysis.

2.

read through my poems and selected text at least two times to get to grips with the key ideas and authorial intentions.
Then, once I finished reading, I would make some notes, on my laptop, on the ideas that really stood out to me, which I would be interested in exploring further. I always had in mind that I would need to write 1,500 words on something I am interested in so I would need to enjoy writing about this potential topic so score really well.

3.

it took me a couple of attempts to redraft my final NEA topic but I used both the ideas I gathered from my reading and a key theme or big topic from the anthology. E.g gender roles - feminism (this wasn't my focus area but this is just a suggestion). If I needed help, I would sit down with my Teacher and she'd offer some guidance to help me narrow things down.

Hope that helps

If you get 20/25 on both NEAs then it comes out to be an A. Grade boundaries are subject to change though.
