Psychology or politics a level

I think I’ve made like 3 posts on a level choices but anyways,

im certain on doing history and nearly certain on English lit.

Both politics and psychology seem really interesting.

I know both are essay based but psychology is not just essays and the idea of 3 essay subjects doesn’t really appeal to me.

I feel like I have more prior knowledge of politics but I’ve looked at past papers for it and it looks so confusing

Any advice from anyone who takes either or both??

Hello, I take Psychology (aqa) :wavey: You're right in that Psychology isn't wholly essay based, as there are also short answer questions and maths questions. If you haven't already, you could look at past papers for Psychology as well and see what you think of the different types of questions?

If you have any other questions about psych a-level I'd be happy to answer the best I can

hi i do both politics (edexcel) and psychology (aqa) and also geography (Eduqas). I probably like them in this order too 😂.

I find them both really good subjects, politics is really interesting but is similar to history (as far as im aware from doing it at gcse, my teacher usually refers to how we answered questions at gcse when people get confused at the essays).

As AQA psych only goes up to 16 mark essays, it does give me a break from the pressures of other subjects as id say its most similar to gcse out of the ones i do.

what’s your end goal, maybe what you’d like to study at uni or job? that may help. Both subjects would be good for a role in business etc and also give transferable skills.
