This is ten years too late but for anyone else concerned in the future! DONT DO IT!!!!!
My lovely yet (t-wat) of a husband thought it'd be a great idea to put the mayo in with the microwavable chicken and potatas bravas for two when it said to remove the mayo sachet and add later if wanted!!!! We ended up with food poisoning, it went all curdled and weird but us being young, hungry and tired we didnt know. We causally blamed it on KFC we had for lunch the same day until I read up on things and the instructions my husband attempted to read last night! NEVER AGAIN

It wouldn't have been the mayo that caused your food poisoning. It's totally safe to heat mayonnaise - in fact, it goes through heat treating in the process of making it, with the eggs in the mayo being pasturised. I'd hazard a guess that was indeed the KFC.

Mayonnaise is made with raw egg yolks and olive oil. It will lose* its texture (will become watery and transparent) and lose* the taste when microwaved. Otherwise,It is safe to eat but do not wait too long before eating it because it will grow bacteria.

Another fact about mayonnaise is since it contains raw eggs, you can be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria and as far as I know, it may cause miscarriages on pregnant women.

Guy, please, PLEASE learn how to spell the word "lose." Seriously. Please.
I wouldnt

A self-made mayonnaise consists of eggs and oil as ingredients. As the oil dominates, the mayonnaise would get oily until oil remains...
