Uni rejection (fine art)

Hi, I just got rejected from 2 unis, the 2 i wanted to go to the most. It's an art and design course. PLEASE do not ask me which unis rejected me because i honestly dont want to disclose out of embarrassment. For one, im specifically hurt over. I did an interview for it and everything, the interviewer seemed to have been very interested in my portfolio. Complimented my work and said how good it would be for the course. I promise there was NOTHING he said which was negative or remotely bad about my application, hence why i'm shocked I got rejected. I did good in the interview and I mean god the person praised me for it? I'm honestly spiralling, was I stupid in thinking I had a chance? I don't know what to do. I guess i'll have to go to a uni i didnt want to go to. I don't really know what to do with my life lmao, i'm not trying to be dramatic but this in particular is sending me over the edge. I feel as though I've been lied to again. I really dont know what to do.

No you don't. Find out why you were rejected, do something about it (improve interview performance, portfolio etc), plan a gap year, and reapply.

I really recommend you do the above and find out why you got the rejections. I also think you should consider doing a foundation diploma, which is a one year stand alone FE course at a further education college and Fine Art degree courses look favourably on this as a good why to prepare students for a degree. During the gap year you can reapply to the courses you want to go to.
Never do a Uni course at a place you don't want to be, you do deserve better than that.

I was rejected by a foundation course. I'm really unsure about taking a gap year honestly

There’s tonnes of universities and colleges offering FAD courses that will help you improve and reapply during a gap year.

Have you asked for feedback from each of your choices?

I don't think i'll be able to do a gap year. My parents won't let me and I doubt I'll be able to find anything good to do which will give me some income lmao. It's fine I'll just accept my fate and go to Westminster although it was my 3rd choice.

It's not the end of the world, though extremely frustrating.

The window remains opened although the door was closed. Keep on and don't look back, from now on your destiny will be in your own hands.

It really does not matter where you do the FAD. As PQ said, there are plenty at colleges around you and you then apply to place you want to go to. Going to Westminster because you feel you have to will always leave you wondering and is a massive waste.
First step is to find out why you got rejected.
