English language grade - am I screwed?

Currently in year 12 and aspiring to go into the STEM sector - maybe something chemistry-related. However, last year, I got a 5 in my English language GCSE, and people around me are saying different things. I got 9s and 8s in my STEM subjects, with the rest being 7s and 6s. Am I unable to get into any good university? I'm aspiring to get into UCL or Bath, and I do meet the GCSE requirements, but I feel like I will be rejected from every uni I apply to because of it.

You must meet any any specific GCSE requirement but Chemistry is not a mega-competitive subject, so its unlikely that your overall GCSE profile would have any significant impact.

As well as Chemistry, its worth looking at Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, Life Sciences and Natural Sciences, plus joint-subject degrees

So does this mean I'm not screwed? As I do meet the requirements of a grade 4+ ?

as long as you meet the minimum requirement of what UCL or Bath ask you then you are fine

They wouldn't require 4+ if they really want 6+.
