Wrong information for application

Hi,

I wrote the wrong information for my MSc (well, wrote the wrong degree title). Is it worth a shot to email the admissions office to change it?

Do you think it might affect my chances if I do not send?

It depends on how mistaken the "wrong degree title" was.

Was is so wrong that they might not be sure what degree you want to do? If so, it may well impact your chances of success.

Or was it more subtle than that: "History of Art" via. "Art History" for example? If so, I suspect it won't have an impact.

In either case, I'd email them with a simple, "For the sake of clarity, I would like to confirm that the course for which I'm applying is X. I believe I may have inadvertently referred to it as Y previously."

Postgrad admissions team are well used to amending any degree info that is entered by applicants. They will be looking at any documentation first and foremost.

Well just to update any future applicants who made the same mistake - it did not affect my application 😀
Was given an offer even before I emailed the university
