I was offered a role in August but still don’t have a formal offer or start date. Which makes me wonder if they don’t have any roles?

A little further up the thread there is an FOI request which shows the planned vacancies for the next year

This sounds so unfair having you wait all this while for a formal offer. I was unsuccessful at the last stage of this process but have since interviewed for and secured another SEO role and I am starting soon. I hope you are looking for other jobs because this is not on.

I was contacted and offered a position with CTU which differs from role applied for. If I don't accept I remain on merit list

It’s been ridiculous, I was so positive bout the role and experience but this has left a sour taste.
Still no start date, and communication has been dire.

Maybe someone who has previously interviewed can share information?

However I would go off the civil service values and from the job ad, communication and influencing etc.
From reading earlier in this thread, I believe it’s 4 questions

Leeds. I chased up today. My pecs have now expired as they have taken so long.
They wouldnt have communicated this unless I chased up. I’m waiting on next steps now

Hoping this helps as someone who is in the role..

CTU is the original job so if you’re asked about working within CTU then it isn’t a different job, the original job title per say was released as an umbrella role covering management as a whole.

The reason the wait is so long is due to the fact they take in trainees (band O) in tranches over 9 months so, many areas are currently already in the throes of training. The management role is very difficult, you’re given a team of approx 15 people to manage and train on a technical (compliance) role that you most likely don’t have expeeince in. If this is your first time managing I would say you probably won’t enjoy the job as it’s a huge ask to train colleagues as, deliver their training with facilitator briefs when you don’t actually know the role either

There is estimated to be about 2k more trainees taken on which naturally will require managers

Thanks for this.

I have a final stage interviewing in the next week or so any tips?

I have nearly 10 years of management experience in similar working environments so think the role would be good for myself.

Can’t believe they are still interviewing nearly a year after the job was advertised!!!

I was just interviewed yesterday. They said they will be interviewing 500 people and that likely won’t hear back until end of March.
