I wasn’t on the call but i’m guessing there would have been a lot. I can think of the external applicants, across government from other departments, internal HMRC - those who are HEO Caseworkers seeking promotion or maybe some at SEO wanting level transfer? It seems like there must have been a lot due to the stages of the application process. The recorded interview is only stage 2, and the final stage will be a virtual live interview with a presentation, which will be the tie breaker.

There was around 450+ people online on one of the days I attended.

With the deadline gone now, how is everyone feeling about their performance? For me, I found myself waffling a bit.

I found the time quite less. I think I may have missed 1 or 2 of the points from the criteria and explained it all too fast.

I missed some as well. The annoying part was that I had them noted and practiced as well. I guess the nerves got to me. I hope we hear soon. I suspect that thus recruitment is to cover the recent EO campaign that just concluded.

Probably yes. But it may not have only been the nerves. The time was less too. On a standard HEO/SEO interview thats virtual live, you get 8-10 mins to answer. Any I’ve done as such have taken me 8-10 mins to answer each question. This is just the way it is with less time, because it’s stage 2 of the application process and they’re expecting a lot of candidates. It’s the fastest way to sift through them and drop the ones that don’t meet the criteria to get to the final stage.

Chased them up the other day as I hadn't received an invite to the pre recorded interview, got an update today that they're reviewing my request for reasonable adjustments 😅 that already happened when I first submitted, so not sure what happened, but hopefully I'll get an invite soon.
