Voluntarily reviewing your Essays for you! From a student who got an A* last year :)

Hi everyone,

I know A-level exams are literally around the corner and I remember being so anxious about my essay writing technique and exams in general. So, I thought I could do something nice for you guys, as I have loads of free time atm, and review some of your essays (for free ofc).

I studied AQA English Lit B, aspects of tragedy and elements of political and social protest writing.

The texts I studied were as follows:
Othello
Tess of the d'Urbervilles
DOAS (Death of a Salesman)

The Kite Runner
Tony Harrison Poetry (feel like I'm the only person who studied this lol)
A Doll's House
Unseen Extract (I scored 24/25 on this in my actual exam)

Please comment below if you are interested in this and I'll get back to you. If you feel comfortable sharing your essay below, that is fine too.

P.S remember to be polite and respectful when receiving and requesting feedback. I'm obviously doing this voluntarily and out of good will so showing good manners is the least I could gain in return.

No problem Ellie Panda!

If you're comfortable to, feel free to post your essay below or I can drop you a PM - which of the two would work best for you?

That's absolutely fine!

I'm having trouble reaching you via PMs - would you be able to drop me a PM from your side? Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this is a silly question but do you accept essays for a different exam board or text? I'm doing OCR and texts totally different from you. Thank you.

Hey, yes of course.

I'll try my best to give you tailored feedback so long as you are able to provide me the exam board, paper and texts you are writing about.

Hi Ellie Panda, Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, I think there may be an issue on my part or a glitch that is stopping me from sending out a PM to you. I have raised this with TSR team who will be actioning this in the next couple of working days. I will reach out to you ASAP once this has been processed

Hi I'm in year 12 and I do OCR books so I do Dracula vs The Bloody Chamber, Unseen Gothic, Paradise Lost Books IX & X vs The Duchess of Malfi and those are all the ones I've studied rn but I was wondering if you'd be able to mark one of my essays if possible?

Reply 11

Hi! I was wondering if you have any tips for the unseen extracts? it is definitely my weaker areas in English and I am really struggling with both unseen prose and poetry!

Hi, I hope you are well. I'm in Year 13. I do the AQA A spec (love through the ages: Othello, Gatsby and pre-1900s poetry) and paper 2B(modern times). Would you still be able to mark an essay? My general struggle is comparing a novel to poetry, I'm stuck in-between Band 4 and 5, I'd really appreciate any advice about how to help my responses move into middle of Band 5. Thank you!

Hi I would be really grateful if you are still doing this. However I studied, Othello, The Great Gatsby with pre 1900 love poems then handmaids tale, A streetcar named desire with Feminine gospels. Shall I just post othello, unseen poem and prose? Once again I would really appreciate that.
