Student Finance with Divorced Parents

Does anyone know how student finance works if your parents are divorced and you live part-time with both parents? My father is my primary carer (including on all legal documents), but I spend part of my time living with my father and part of my time living with my mother. Both my father and mother are married to new partners. The closest thing I could find to directly addressing this question is on the UCAS website, which says "If you’re separated or divorced, your child should tell us who they live with or have most contact with. If they spend an equal amount of time with both of their parents, they’ll be asked to pick who will support their application." I think that means I get to pick which parent to select as the one I live with, so I would enter my father and stepmother's details. However, I just wanted to double-check check I was doing the right thing if anyone knows about this.

That’s right.
You can pick either parent and then have that used for your household income assessment (so them plus their new spouse’s income).
It’s sensible to pick the parent with the lowest household income.
You can change which parent/household is used for each year of study

Hi there, that is correct, we would ask you to choose which parent (and partner) you would like to select to support your application. If you require any assistance, please feel free to contact us again. Thanks, Stephen.
