pwc flying start programme accounting vs Crowe llp aca L7 apprenticeship

I have received offers from both the pwc flying start programme and Crowe LLP for a L7 ACA apprenticeship.

I am unsure which one to go for, any advice would be really appreciated!

If you’re looking for world wide recognition on your CV, then there’s no contest it’s PWC, BUT doing an ACA qualification is more than that. It’s long hours both in the office and with clients and all combined with studying, even though PWC tends to separate study from client obligations. So what you have to take into consideration is how you felt you were going to fit into the set up when you visited. Did you feel they were going to be supportive of you throughout the apprenticeship or was it implied that a failed exam meant you would be shown the door?. Would you be getting a mix of clients or the possibility to select what type of client base interests you most,( tech sector, banking, hospitality etc) or would you be allocated something without your interests being taken into account?
It’s not an easy decision but I imagine you already have a preference so trust your gut feeling and go with it.

Both give you the ACA.

Crowe you’ll have zero debt, with PwC you still have uni fees to pay although discounted.

Yes, PwC is ranked higher, Crowe is also up there within the Top 20-25.

More hours at PwC.

Both great opportunities nonetheless.

With both companies there’s strict rules, 2 exam attempts, fail and you’re out. It’s a no brainier with accounting firms.

Is this from experience of PwC flying start degree? It sounds more like the grad scheme.

I did a big 4 grad a scheme years and years ago,but as an employer outside of the UK today ( and this is just my opinion) although I would look at the CV’s of both for a newly qualified candidate for a potential role, one would start off with an advantage whereas the other would have to convince me. But that is just MY standpoint. Others could probably make very valid points for choosing Crowe.
