Forum games not counting towards unanswered threads?

Hi. I think we looked at this before and there are some forums that don't count toward the badge. I'll ask someone to double check though. I'm not sure why specific forums would be excluded from badges. Thanks for letting us know 🙂

The rest of the chat forum works fine, it’s specifically forum games for some reason where it doesn’t count so I’m wondering if that’s something that’s gone unnoticed rather than intentional design.
I can understand why specific forums are excluded but it does make the naming of the badge misleading if that’s the case (for the chatterbox badge, you’d think that the chat forum of all forums should count towards the badge, an unanswered thread is an unanswered thread regardless of the forum etc).
Yeah some badges like the chatter box badge and homebird badge I would have maxed out ages ago (1-2 years ago) if the chat forum counter towards those badges.

I've double checked on our test environment and replying first to a forum games thread wasn't counted for the First badge. I'll ask the dev team why. I can't see why there would be a bug with that forum specifically but you're right that it seems an odd choice to intentionally exclude it

That's correct, Forum Games is explicitly excluded from that badge, though it's the only section that is. I suspect because it's unlikely that a thread from that forum would fall under "questions you can help answer", whereas threads in Chat very well might. Just a theory on my part though

Is there any reason why chat is excluded from the chatterbox badge (doesn’t make sense given the name) then or why chat is excluded from the home bird (somewhat makes sense) one?

Probably just a historic thing, rather than any current reasoning! I suspect longer term it would make sense to include Chat in both of those, but continue excluding Forum Games
