SFE National Insurance number

Hi,

I'm applying for SFE for the first time, to start in the 25/26 academic year. The website is saying that its been approved, and they have confirmed everything else but there's a problem with my national insurance number, and when I enter it again it says

"You've entered a National Insurance number that matches one we already have on our system"

I uploaded a digital copy of my original national insurance number letter from HMRC, but I haven't heard anything back. Is this normal?

About two weeks ago, I know they can take a while to get through evidence though so I’m not too worried yet. Just confused as I haven’t seen anyone else have to upload proof of nation insurance number

Hi there,

This actually sounds normal, don't worry.

We automatically verify your National Insurance Number with the DWP, and this takes around 1-2 weeks.

So, until then you'll see that message, but you're fine to ignore it: it will disappear once this has been done.

If there's still no change by the middle of this month, however, let us know.

Hi, I still haven't seen any updates? The photo of my original national insurance letter I uploaded says 'Recieved' so I assume they haven't gone through that either?

Hi there, as it has been confirmed as received, this will still likely be within the review process. If however you would require confirmation of the current status and your online account is still showing outstanding after a little while longer, you can contact us over the phone (0300 100 0607) or via live chat to check for an update.
