Keep getting 40-ish% in my HIgher prelims.

I need help.
I'm starting three Highers in College this year. Higher History, Higher RMPS, and Higher English. (I haven't received my results for English yet.

(My college does prelims in November/Jan, for which, I got really bad marks. The college does another set in March.)

My lectures keep telling me that this is a jumping-off point. However, I am worried about the final exams. The exams are less than a month away and I'm really worried.

If anyone can give me study tips, that would be much appreciated.

I used Knowunity and Quizlet last year as many ex: higher History students had put up their essay plans on these platforms. I also attended e-gscoil online Easter school last year and ended up with a B in English and an A in History. Good Luck

Thank you so much. Those are such great resources. I'll hoping for all B's this year. Once again, thank you.

Hi Bryce,
It’s completely normal to feel a bit overwhelmed coming up to the final exams, but it sounds like you’re really motivated which is a huge plus already! (:

One thing that really helped me (especially with essay-based subjects) was emailing lecturers any practice essays from past SQA papers I completed. I’d ask them to mark them as if they were done in exam conditions- this way you can get really specific feedback tailored to you on where you might be losing marks, It’s especially useful because essay marking schemes online can be quite vague and don’t always cover every possible answer.

Also you could try doing a few of these under timed conditions, so you know that in the real exam your able to manage the time effectively
You’ve got time to make some great improvements- wishing you the best of luck!! (: 📚

Thank you so much, Emily. That's definitely helped a lot. It appears that I'm doing alright right now. I just need to stay motivated for the exams coming up. I have struggling for English, but thank God my lecturer is so supportive.

Regards,

Bryce
