hi im a diff person with the same situ and same question. Im doing 10 gcses, predicted nine 9s 🙂 and an 8 (history is my opp 😕).

I was deciding between lae and ncs, but all the ncs horror stories have pushed me away.

have u had any negative experiences at lae, or are there any issues, either academics/teachers or support/mental health? real curious and the day to pick is drawing closer.

Hi,

I’m a student there. I honestly haven’t had any issues since I joined. There is also a big emphasis on mental health.

Feel free to ask anything 🙂

Both

Grades aren’t a good indicator of what is needed to get in tbh. I got in before they raised the boundaries + my school had a really bad GSCE record + I had been ill for a long time which was taken in consideration when I submitted my GCSEs. Contextuals weren’t a thing at the time I believes

I believe my predicted was 9998888777 and I flopped and got 9988866655, but again it depends on who you are, what school you go to etc.

Hey for LAE, I was wondering what supercurricular opportunities they offer but particularly for the engineering/tech side of things. And do they offer help with gaining work experience? I know people who have gotten into engineering at Oxbridge from LAE but I want to know how they support their students. I've heard of the robotics team though. Also does LAE give entrance exam support e.g with the TMUA or MAT
