Online BSc Psychology?

I'm hoping to start a BSc in Psychology this year, and i'm wanting to do this online for personal reasons! I've narrowed my choices to the open university, university of Essex online & The university of Law.

Has anyone got any experience of either of these, specifically studying online?

I don't have any experience (yet), but you can try checking out University of London. I'm going to apply there, for their BSc Psychology online, and will be studying this October. And best part is (or at least, I think it's the best part) the curriculum provider is King's College, which is one of the best uni in the world for psychology. Hope that helps Xx

Hey @sadie2503!⭐️

If you’re thinking about studying BSc Psychology online and University of Essex is one of your choices, I honestly couldn’t recommend it more! As a psychology student myself, I know how important it is to have a well-structured, engaging, and BPS-accredited course—Essex delivers exactly that! 🎓✨

The BSc Psychology covers everything from cognitive psychology and mental health to social behaviour, neuroscience, and research methods. You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of human behaviour, emotions, and thought processes, all while developing valuable critical thinking, research, and analytical skills. 🧠🔍

Since the degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), it meets the requirements for further training if you’re considering a career in clinical psychology, counselling, research, or any other psychology-related field. Plus, studying online means you can learn at your own pace while still having access to great support from tutors and interactive learning materials. 📚💻

If you're looking for flexibility, a strong academic foundation, and an online community that truly supports you, Essex could be the perfect choice for you! Let me know if you have any questions—I’d love to help! 😊

Best,

I did my Psychology course online, although it was an MSc. A few key things I would focus on:

1) is the course you choose fully accredited with the British Psychological Society
2) have you attended digital open days for the university
3) check out the Universities report with the Office for Students
4) If it is an online provider you are not familiar with, check that you can get a student loan with them through SFE

Best of luck on your journey. May I recommend Coolican's 'Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology' it will be invaluable

I did my course at Arden University, they also do a BSc which might interest you, I already had a 1st BA Hons Sociology when I dived in so I was quite familiar with how Uni worked already. I must say their virtual learning environment is the best I have seen and I have been to 3 uni's

Good luck!
