Gcse english language paper 2

could someone mark this gcse english language paper 2 question 5 please as chatgpt told me its a grade 8 but then markme.ai told me it's a grade 5

"‘Social media is responsible for the decline in young people’s mental health, and stricter regulations should be put in place to limit its use.’
Write a speech for a group of young people in which you argue for or against this statement."
Social media. A subject we are all, in this room, familiar with. You either love it or hate it, no in between. Am I right kids?

For some of you social media will be your greatest power. You love social media. Being able to hide behind screens and comment away everything spiraling out of your mind. Who cares if it’s morally right or wrong? As long as your having fun. But let me bring you in, in a closer secret. I assure you that in this room many of your friends or even just peers you know will not be feeling this way. Statistics show that 75% of young people’s mental health, your friends’ mental health, are declining ever so rapidly due to your source of entertainment.

For majority of you, social media is unfortunately you weakest power. You hate social media. You are the ones recieveing the hate comments; the same comments that keep you up at night wondering where did I go wrong? What did I do to deserve this? Why do we feel so weak by someone we don’t even know? You compare yourself to unrealistic influencers, manipulating you into forcing yourself to be better in a way that’s impossible. It’s all fake. Social media is destroying lives, interfering with education, ruining young adulthood. You either thrive or die with social media. Most feel internally dead with social media. Social media should be restricted to young people, and I 100% stand by that!

My friend - a victim to this new appealing technology was ambushed and left in pieces after using social media. She would post pictures of herself trying on outfits, going on holidays, do day in my life etc, something you all are familiar with almost like it’s some sort of national anthem for teens. Unfortunately my friend was not very lucky and instead got swamped drowned in hate comments making her feel insecure even for just doing stuff she loved, ultimately leaving her in a turmoil of insecurities. This is what happens when you don’t think twice before posting something or should I say “think twice before you speak”.Thankfully she is getting the help she needs but many may feel helpless and vulnerable. Why live in a society like this, where you have to drown others so you can swim yourself to the top of the sea?

Social media must be stopped.

It is ruining us.
