Hi! I studied BSc Maths with a placement year at Lancaster, so I am more than happy to answer any questions you have about Lancaster or the course! I really enjoyed the maths course, there is a lot of flexibility to tailor the course to your interests, which I liked. Placement years are quite popular at Lancaster, so there is a lot of support available, which makes the process much less stressful! I have also found that a placement year has helped me in finding work and opportunities after uni, as you already have a year's experience!

When choosing between unis, it is also important to consider the environment and type of city you will be living in. Bristol and Lancaster are quite different, with Bristol being a city university, whereas Lancaster is a campus university. Maybe consider which environment you might prefer as you'll be living there for 3/4 years!

I hope that helps! 🙂

Lancaster is pretty good but Bristol has a very good (better) Maths department so provided you can afford it I would go Bristol.
