Supporting child's application (had a student loan in 1994)

Hi
I'm a parent whose son has just applied for student finance. I took out a student loan in 1994 that I paid off in around 2000 and I have since married so my name has changed. I have no idea what my customer number was and didn't have email back then.

I can't work out how to speak to someone on the telephone number as it's all about online resets or for people with a customer number. It says not to create a new account but how can I reset my account with no customer number or email linked to my account? There must be lots of people in this position whose kids are now off to Uni but I can't see any answers/guidance for pre email student loan customers. What should I do please?

Hi there,

If you call us and just stay on the line you'll be transferred to an advisor who an help you.

Alternatively, it may be easier to complete a PFF2 form, which is this one here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/67ae12bae270ceae39f9e199/sfe_pff2_form_2526_o.pdf

Your son can upload it on his own account, it doesn't need to be signed or posted.

Also, you can include things like your e-mail address and the form and we'll update your details meaning that, in future, you'll be able to login to your account.

Thanks, Graeme
