Am I cooked??

I’m stressing because I’ve been cruising and relaxing as if I don’t have A-Levels in 2 months 🤒

I was wondering if I have time to make notes at this point? I do content heavy subjects (socio, english lit and psych) and I’ve already made some notes but there’s still soooo much I have to do. If I don’t have time to make notes, what do you suggest instead??

Don't stress. You are not cooked. You can improve a lot between now and the exam, so a positive mindset is essential. I do psych as well (AQA), and my teacher suggested that I revise 30 minutes of content and then do 30 minutes of questions. That way, you are covering the knowledge but also learning how to apply it. I don't do English Lit, but I do other essay-based subjects, so I would assume the best way to revise is to do essay plans and write timed answers. My friend does English, and she creates tables covering the key themes, quotes, and characters for each of the texts. And I don't do socio either, but I think the psych method would work.

I hope this helps! Good luck 🙂

Hey! Please do not panic, any revision you get the chance to do is much better than none at all! Here are some tips to help I found help me before exams:

Focus on the tough stuff first: Pick the subjects or topics you're struggling with the most and tackle those first. It’ll give you a confidence boost once you get them out of the way.

Do past exam papers: They’re a goldmine! You’ll get used to the format and find out what kind of questions come up often.

Active recall > passive reading: Instead of just reading notes, quiz yourself. Try to recall the info from memory it helps lock it in way better. Plus this is way more fun!

Study with friends: If you can, get together with classmates or friends. Explaining things to others helps reinforce your own understanding.

Ask for help if you’re stuck: Don’t be afraid to ask your teachers or tutors for clarification. Most universities (like Bournemouth Uni!) offer extra support, whether it’s workshops, office hours, or online resources.

Stay organized: Keep your notes tidy and create a study plan. It’ll help you stay on track and avoid last-minute panic.

Look after yourself: Sleep, eat well, and take breaks. If you’re well-rested, your brain will work way better. Don’t burn yourself out!

Stay positive: It’s all about mindset. Take things one step at a time, and celebrate the small wins. You’ve got this!

And hey, if you're ever thinking about uni down the line, Bournemouth University has a ton of great support systems in place to help students succeed just saying! 🤭

Good luck, and go smash those exams!

Not cooked whatsoever- tbh you could’ve spent every second of the last 2 years revising and I don’t think you’d be in a different position in 2 of these subjects, as there’s such limited revision options.

I also took Eng Lit and sociology+ another essay based subject and sat my A- Levels last year-

They’re admittedly quite difficult to revise for due to limited resources- however for me, I ensured to prioritise above all preparing for what would be in front of me on the day-
I did this by focusing on past papers-

Tbh at this point note taking is too passive to be effective in such a short period of time- try and utilise quick existing resources for content revision( e.g. tutor2u soc vids, and couldn’t even suggest anything for Eng lit as I had nothing🤣)-

but do whatever you can to get content in your head fast, and then focus on doing all past papers available, as great exam technique will get you the As- and to get A*s you need something extra knowledge wise( more in depth novel knowledge in English lit for example- making unique points not made by everyone- best of luck!
