how to Improve Physics grade from D's/E's to C's/B's

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could give some advice on how to Improve grades grades in physics. I've had 3 tests in total that made up my half term tests as well and in 2 of them I got a D and 1 of them I got an E. The most recent test I've done was on waves and I got E although the grade boundaries were high for that one but I still did terrible. I feel so upset as I tried hard revising for it but i still didn't do well.

My parents are disappointed in me and I quite frankly need a lot of help. I have 2 weeks half term after this week and I want to spend my time drilling everything down and get my grade to a realistically a C and a B maybe if I'm being aspirational. I don't know if it's my revision methods or just something wrong with me but I am determined to get my grades up. I'm doing fine in my other subjects, it's just physics that I'm heavily struggling. I've also talked to my teacher last half term to see what I can do to improve and he told me to do practice questions (mainly calculations). I've done that for my most recent test as well flashcards and revision notes but I didn't improve at all. Can someone give some advice on this as I genuinely want to improve but I just don't know where to start. I also have end of year exams at the end of june which I also need to revise for. I hope to get a B in that but I know I have to work hard for it.

Can anyone offer some advice on revision methods or how to go about this?

I would love to hear from anyone who experienced this as well.

Hope to hear from someone.

With physics it’s difficult, I’d try first remembering how to convert units for equations, then go unit by unit, try remembering the easy stuff and leave the hard stuff, if you want to continue next year, I would just try and learn the equations to use them, you’ll still get marks and to pass you only need a C, so don’t aim high if it might stress you out.

I totally understand! At the start of my A-Level Physics course I was getting D’s and C’s. Keep practicing. Sometimes your best option is to keep working at it. It takes time, you can’t exactly jump within a few weeks. If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your exam board?
