Try to put some money aside for placements such as travel costs, potentially hotel costs (if you get sent far enough away from your home to make daily travel impractical) - although you can usually claim expenses back from the NHS, you are expected to pay out first, and claim the money back later so having some funds saved for this is helpful

Placement is brilliant but tiring so things like easy freezer meals and buying some extra uniforms (saves on doing extra laundry!) can be really helpful
•
If you are looking for some part time work whilst studying, it might be good to try to get some as an HCA or therapy assistant or as a support worker - this can provide really useful experience if you are not from a healthcare background and you get paid as well

Driving license + access to a car is a bonus if you are doing a community placement (but not essential, not everyone drives)
It really is a wonderful career and I wish you the best of luck!
